GROOVEMAN
FAQ
How do I start playback?
Choose a tempo and rhythm pattern, then tap or click the stage to play. Tap or click it again during playback to stop.
How do I switch between clicks and drums?
Open the rhythm pattern panel and choose the Click or Drums tab. Both modes work with every character. In drum mode, a groove suited to the pattern is chosen automatically; only the groove selector is disabled.
How do I choose a character?
Swipe left or right on the stage, or press the left or right triangle. Press and hold the stage to choose directly from the full lineup.
How do I save a song’s settings?
After choosing a song, press the bookmark button on the home screen to save or overwrite that song’s current settings. If no song is selected, fields for the song title and artist will open. Recall saved songs from Bookmarks in Song Deck. This also works for songs selected from a setlist.
How do I use MINI?
On Mac, Windows, and Android, open MINI with the smile icon to minimize the main app window. Android requires permission to display over other apps. On iPhone, returning to the Home Screen during playback switches to a mini Picture in Picture (PiP) view while audio continues. Return to the app to restore the main view. Display and controls vary by OS.
Can I practice with silent bars?
Use Bar Gap in settings to add silent bars. It works with both clicks and drums. During silent bars, the drummer stops striking but keeps moving to the rhythm. You can also choose a count-in in settings.
Can I keep using it for free?
Yes. Clicks with both jazz characters and Song Deck are free to use. Song Deck’s features may change, or the service may be suspended or discontinued. Try drums and the other stages within a shared allowance of 5 minutes a day. Time spent stopped does not use this allowance.
Does it play along with a song automatically?
Song Deck recalls practice settings for a song. It does not listen to and follow music in real time. For live performances or songs with changing tempos, adjust the tempo and pattern as needed.
Can I use it without playing an instrument?
Yes—use it for singing, dancing, or rhythm practice too. Start the click with your favorite character and try moving along.
What if the sound and movement feel out of sync?
Bluetooth devices and other equipment may introduce audio delay. First try your device’s speakers or a wired connection, then try the sync adjustment in settings.
Which devices are supported?
We’re preparing versions for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, and Windows. After launch, check each store for supported OS versions and device requirements.
Troubleshooting
If playback or a panel stops responding, stop playback, close the panel, and reopen it. If the problem continues, fully close and reopen Grooveman. Saved bookmarks and Setlists should remain on the device.
Tuner and microphone
The tuner uses the microphone only while the tuner is open. If permission was denied, enable microphone access in the device settings and reopen the tuner. Audio is analyzed on the device and is not uploaded by the tuner.
Cancellation and refunds
Subscriptions can be cancelled from the store account that made the purchase. Refund requests are handled by Apple, Google Play, or Microsoft Store under that store’s rules; Grooveman cannot issue a store refund directly.
Data deletion
Grooveman does not require a Grooveman account. Delete the app and its local data to remove device data. For information sent through support or Song Deck, email us from the address below.
